Klaviyo’s Newest Features 2024: Embedded Video Content And More..

Klaviyo is constantly updating and incorporating new features within its platform, allowing its customers to continue growing.

Here are the newest Klaviyo features you should know about in August 2024;

Embed Video Into Email Marketing Content

Many inbox providers such as Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo block embedded email content like videos, surveys and forms due to security risks. Meaning your subscribers can’t see the content when they open your email. That is why Klaviyo has introduced this new feature which allows you to link videos more easily within email marketing content.

Klaviyo has added a drag-and-drop video feature to allow you to feature a video within an email, using a static image as the visual asset.

Klaviyo Embedded Video Content

For example, if you use YouTube to share your video, Klaviyo will automatically select the thumbnail related to the video. However, if you are using a different platform and the thumbnail isn’t detected by Klaviyo you have the option to select a thumbnail image.

Klaviyo Newest features; Embedded Video Content and Bot Clicks Reporting

This Klaviyo feature also allows you to select whether to add a play button to the image, this can influence engagement as subscribers will click the image which looks like a video and be taken to the video webpage.

Overall, using this feature with an email marketing flow or campaign or can encourage subscribers to engage with the content and help improve email engagement and click rate.

Bot Click Reporting Filter

Bot clicks also known as server clicks, are done by a machine, they are used to test the safety of a link with email content. Bot clicks have led to marketing strategies being impacted due to non-reliable data as it will appear that more subscribers have engaged. This is where Klaviyo has come in with their latest analytics feature, allowing you to exclude bot clicks from specific reporting data.

Metrics which are impacted by the bot click reporting feature include click rate, total clicks and unique clicks, no other metrics will be affected. Using this bot click reporting filter, reports and dashboard which include click rates will exclude bot clicks.

Running A/B tests to measure click rate will also be affected if this feature is enabled as in any live experiment, only clicks which are made by humans will be counted towards to winning variation.

How can you implement this into your marketing strategy?

  1. Simply head to “Account” and then “Settings”.

  2. Select the “Email” or “SMS” tab depending on the channel to which you want to apply the bot click filter.

  3. Choose the “Tracking” tab and tick the “Exclude bot clicks from reporting data” box.

Bot Clicks Reporting

In conclusion, applying the bot click reporting filter within your account can ensure the data you collect is accurate. This will then contribute to your marketing strategy and allow your business to make data-driven decisions.
